Elroy's Picks of the Week

Well it’s been a busy week here at Ground Zero. A night I’d like to forget at the club — I know the guy that got booed off the decks wishes he could forget. Not all the music was bad, but there were enough pitiful jocks to make my ears cry a little. I guess with these Competition-type events there’s always the risk that it will turn out like the early episodes of American Idol. But enough of that; here are my Top Picks of the Week:
1: G Minor (Soul Avengerz RMX) _ Exhibit A (Cr2 Records)
A great track dripping with a disco vibe… It’s not much more than a great hook and filters but it will give any set an energy shot to the heart. You ready?
2: Boy, Do Me A Freshly Squeezed Juice (Autodeep Concentrated Re-Juice) _ Aleksey Beloozerov (Low Flow Records)
A deep techy track with some electric keys and bass, some chill samples, and a groove that really takes me for a ride. The Harold Heath Re-Rub isn’t too shabby either. No pulp, please!
3: Somebody To Love (WMC Miami Mix) _ Clubzound (Supermusic Records)
A great remix of this classic Jefferson Airplane track… The Boogie Pimps release a few years back was in my crate for months but this remix one-ups that… Surprised I didn’t hear it more from the WMC sets this year… Great sing-along peak hour track!
4: The Heat feat Max’C (NICe*7 RMX) _ Prok & Fitch (Stealth Records)
Slammin’ house track that will heat up any dancefloor… Big kick and layers or percussion with a killer hook…
5: Put Ya Hands Together _ The Hedgetrimerz (Toolroom)
An older track featured on Toolroom’s Spring Charts… The “Put Ya Hands Together” sample is a crowd winner and the housey vibe can work with anything!
