Every year I tell myself I won’t vote, I won’t support this poll anymore.

But every year I do end up voting anyway simply because there are some great artists out there and they deserve some recognition. Despite this year’s vote-buying scandal, there are still plenty of worthy jocks. Here are my Top 5:

1) Darin Epsilon

Darin Epsilon – Live @ Hacienda La Dicha, Colombia [July 27 ’12] by Darin Epsilon

This is by far my favorite new face of the past couple years. Sure, he’s been around a while, but he’s finally starting to get the recognition he deserves. He’s not new to the scene, but he may be new to you. And if you’re a fan of progressive house and deep melodic tech, Darin’s is the only name you need to know. He’s doing everything right: Regular mixes online for free? Check. Hot record label with killer originals and remixes? Check. Playing shows around the world? Check. Friendly and accessible? Check and check. And keeping “progressive” real? Big Check!

2) Elite Force

Another artist that’s about more than just the music. Sure, he’s got the free mixes available for the fans, but what was even more impressive to me was the Re-Vamp Project with a new track each week. Check it HERE!

3) DJ Sneak

DJ Sneak CircoLoco After PArty @ Morgan Warehouse Nyc by dj sneak

The Original House Gangster. Sure, I know all the mixes aren’t flawless, but that’s part of the fun that comes from his music. Sneak keeps it real, and he’s not afraid to call out those that don’t.

4) DJ Oscar G

OSCAR G ~ LIVE @ PACHA NYC 6/2/12 by DJ Oscar G

Ok, I’ll admit I was a bit late to the party with this guy. Friends kept telling me to check out his stuff but I’d always seemed to put it off.
Turns out to be one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made when it came to finding new music.
I don’t know too much about Oscar G, but this guy is simply great. His sound and his style are both unique, and he has a knack for pulling the best house music into his sets. Don’t miss out!

5) Ellissentials

Ellissentials – Dropception by Ellissentials

Not a name you may be familiar with, but you should. Ellissentials hosts a weekly radio show on Faderwave and truly casts off all labels to mix what he wants. House, electro, breaks, trance, d&b, techno, dubstep. Whatever it is, it’s all fresh. He’s also breaking out as an up-and-coming remixer/producer, so check his stuff and keep your ears opened for more! But what sets this guy apart is his willingness to connect with fans… He’s isn’t afraid to interact during his live sets and is always open to offer help for new DJs and producers.
